You want your bedroom to be unique, but you have a limited budget to work with. Creating a feature wall is an excellent way to enhance your space without overspending. Here are 10 ideas that can add a special touch to your bedroom makeover.

Keep it Classic with Shiplap.

Let's begin with the timeless style of SHIPLAP! For a farmhouse feel, stain it in a woodsy colour. For an organic look, paint it in earthy tones. To achieve a modern aesthetic, stain it in dark ebony, allowing the natural wood grain to remain visible. Shiplap is incredibly versatile, adapting to a wide range of styles. It serves as an ideal backdrop for new furniture pieces like a bed and nightstands.

Turn it vertical with Shiplap Panels.

Over the years, I've grown to love Home Depot Shiplap panels. They're affordable, simple to install, and make a fantastic backdrop in a bedroom. While you can install them horizontally, I prefer a vertical application. If you're considering a home improvement project or simply looking to refresh your bedroom decor, I highly recommend exploring the possibilities offered by Home Depot's Shiplap panels. Build a Shelf using Pole Wrap.

Build a Shelf and apply pole wrap underneath! Another great discovery from Home Depot is Pole Wrap. It's simple to install and made from white oak, which makes it ideal for staining in any colour you like. Juje it with a custom wooden shelf and dress it with lovely artwork and plants, creating a beautiful backdrop for any bedroom. Click here to check them out.

Use Moulding behind your bed.

For a more traditional look, moulding can serve as a beautiful frame for your artwork, improving the overall aesthetic of your space. By painting the moulding in the same colours as your walls, you create a seamless appearance that subtly integrates the artwork into the room's design. This technique not only adds depth and texture to your bedroom but also allows the artwork to stand out without overwhelming the space.

Light up Wood Veneer

Adding wood veneer halfway up your bedroom walls is a great way to add character to the room. For a truly relaxing vibe, try routing an LED strip light. It's a subtle touch that makes the space look rich and gives it a hotel-chic feel.

Calm your space with Micro Concrete.

Nothing screams calm and serene like microconcrete. This on-trend material, renowned for its distinctive texture, provides a gorgeous aesthetic that can transform any space into a tranquil haven. With its smooth and refined texture, microconcrete not only enhances the visual appeal of a room but also contributes to a soothing atmosphere, making it an ideal choice to create the perfect sanctuary. The soft, matte finish of microconcrete offers a gentle texture that evokes feelings of relaxation and comfort, making it suitable for creating a restful environment, such as a bedroom.

Bring in Texture with Grass Wallpaper

I adore how grass wallpaper enhances the look of a primary bedroom with its sophisticated, organic, and distinctive look. Although wallpaper is often associated with bold designs, some alternatives provide a more understated effect, making them an ideal addition to a bedroom by adding subtle texture behind a bed. Take a look at one of my favourites here.

Make it Lofty with Faux Brick

Faux brick may sometimes seem inexpensive, but applying a German smear effect can enhance its authenticity and realism. This straightforward technique involves using drywall mud to give the brick an aged appearance. It's an excellent method for creating a more masculine and industrial vibe in a bedroom. The brick panels are easily accessible at Home Depot and can be bought right here.
